How can those of us in public media ensure that we’re delivering high quality content to our on-demand, device-agnostic and quickly changing digital world? Industry leaders came together to answer this question, and the result was the PMP–public media’s only cross-media digital distribution system. The PMP makes it possible for us to quickly and efficiently deliver content in new ways, including the ability to share our long tail of rich archival content.
Who is behind the Public Media Platform?
Managed and supported by NPR Digital Services, the PMP was founded by American Public Media, NPR, PBS, PRI, and PRX. Each of the founding partners actively participated in the development and adoption of the PMP to include common data standards and best practices.
The PMP was a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and is now part of NPR.
